ARLINGTON BOY SCOUT TROOP 306 TAKES THIRD PLACE IN BOSTON-WIDE SCOUTING
COMPETITION
Boy Scout Troop 306 recently took third place in the Great North Woods
Challenge, held Oct 7-9th, in Barnstead, New Hampshire. The scouts
camped for three days and competed against 75 other teams at a major
camporee that drew nearly 1,000 scouts and adult volunteers from across
the Boston area. The team-based competition tested scouts on sixteen
different scout skills, from first aid to knot tying, water rescue to
nature identification.
Boy Scout Troop 306, sponsored by the First Baptist Church, has been
part of the Arlington community since 1917. The Troop provides an active
program of leadership, community service, and outdoor adventure, and is
